Hardcover, no dust jacket, published by Macmillan Publishing Company in 1986, 947 pages, signed in blue ballpoint ink on the front free end paper to the actress "A gift from / Jacqueline Deval of / Book of the Month Club / 3/87" and likely in McQueen's hand (in the same color ink) "470 W. 144th St. N.Y.C. / 31 Hamilton Terr. #13 / '89." (Please note this book was in the fire that tragically took McQueen's life in December 1995; it has burn damage on the spine and outside pages and there is also evident water damage.)
