    Description

A Bette Davis Signed Sepia Photograph by Ernest Bachrach, Circa 1930. An original print with a matte finish, depicting a head and shoulders shot of the very young actress probably taken right when she moved to Hollywood, stamps on the front read "Unfinished / Proofs By / Bachrach," signed in black fountain pen ink in the lower left "With love to / Stanley / Bette," one hole punch on top center, verso displays a form for developing instructions; the 'Stanley' was Stanley Wingate Woodward, a well-known artist who was also a neighbor to the young Davis while she was growing up in Massachusetts; the two maintained a close friendship for decades, up until Woodward passed away in 1970; also included are two other smaller sepia photographs of Davis likely taken at the same session, both also stamped on the front in part "Proofs." (Please note all photographs are in somewhat distressed condition as they were not meant to be the final versions.)
    14" x 11"; 10" x 8"
