Aircraft filming miniature from The Aviator Aircraft filming miniature from The Aviator. (Miramax, 2004) Large-scale aircraft filming "miniature" measuring 9 ½ ft. long x 33 in. tall with a 13 ½ ft. wingspan. This impressively detailed miniature features a fabric covered fuselage and wings, twin wooden propellers, metal cables, miniature prop cameras atop the wings constructed of resin, resin tanks and gauges affixed to the engine cowls. Entirely hand-painted and detailed to resemble a weathered aircraft. A cable mount where the miniature was suspended for the flying sequences in the film is still affixed to the tail section. The wings are detachable for easier transporting. Exhibits a 2 in. x 6 in. tear of the fabric on the upper wing above the cockpit; otherwise, Excellent screen-used condition.
