A James Cagney Massive Collection of Handwritten Correspondence to His Secretary Plus Other Initialed Documents, 1940s-1960s. Housed in a large black 3-ring binder, spanning about 25 years, comprising hundreds of documents that Cagney gave to his longtime secretary, Nora Helm, to handle and then to file including: dozens of letters he handwrote to her (either in fountain pen or ballpoint ink or pencil) about his business dealings (as well as some personal issues), small memos and notes he wrote to her with instructions, invoices that he initialed ["J.C."] and ok'd for her to pay, a handful of contracts that he signed with his full name (for non-film related transactions), postcards he mailed to her, carbon copies of letters he sent/responded to, and the like -- overall, an impressive and comprehensive collection with hundreds of documents that Cagney either wrote, signed, or initialed in his own hand; please note this catalogue description and our illustration do not do justice to the scope of this extraordinary lot!
