A Carl Weathers Iconic 'American Flag' Elaborate 'Light Up' Costume from "Rocky IV." United Artists, 1985. A satin jacket, red and white stripes, short sleeves with beaded fringe, lapels with white sequins in the shape of stars set against a blue sequin background, one button front closure, back with tails; together with a matching top hat; jacket has miniature lights and electrical tubing throughout (with added electrical wiring) in order to light up entire piece; hat has further lighting as well (unknown whether the lights still work now); worn by the actor as "Apollo Creed" in the extended sequence right before the exhibition match where he gets killed by "Drago" [Dolph Lundgren]. (Please note there is staining and slight discoloration on the jacket due to use; the hat is faded and also stained, especially the interior.)

"I wanted to have Apollo Creed make his presence known when he goes to fight Drago in Las Vegas. It was actually the first time we used fiberoptics - so this Uncle Sam outfit would light up. And he came onscreen with such an explosion. It's one of my favorite, favorite moments. This is the only one in the world like it. It's been in my home for many, many years and it's just extraordinary - it really is!"
