1963 Cleopatra collection of storyboard drawings 862. Cleopatra collection of original storyboard drawings for the 1963 version.(20th Century Fox, 1963) 42 storyboard sketches in pencil, pen & ink, and charcoal on 8.5 x 11" vellum by illustrator Harold Michelson for this version which stars Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Each panel is an impressive and detailed work in its' own right. There is also a surprising amount of female nudity depicted, which could not, of course, make it to the screen during this tail end of the censorship code. Each panel is also drawn in a wide-screen format as an accurate indicator of how the finished scenes will appear in the Todd-AO process. Very Fine overall, with a few bearing the stamp of the Lillian Michelson Library at Zoetrope Studios.Auction Info
