DescriptionThe Mummy & Other Lot (Universal International, 1959). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. One Sheets (4) (27" X 41") and Title Card (11" X 14") Joseph Smith Artwork. With the release of The Curse of Frankenstein in 1957 and The Horror of Dracula in 1958, Britain's Hammer Film Studios single-handedly revived the moribund horror genre, which had lain fallow since just after World War II. Following the enormous success of their first two monster films, Hammer next took on The Mummy, creating a classy color remake of the Boris Karloff original. Starring Peter Cushing as archaeologist John Banning and Christopher Lee as Kharis, the bandage-wrapped title character, the film was another triumph for Hammer. Offered in this lot are four of the Hammer film one sheets and one title card. The Mummy poster shows some wrinkling and minor wear. The Curse of the Werewolf (Universal International, 1961) one sheet is in very clean condition with only minor wear. Brides of Dracula (Universal International, 1960) one sheet is also in very clean condition with minimal wear. The Evil of Frankenstein(Universal, 1964) is in lesser condition with some tape staining on the verso some of which shows through and a l hole in the monster's hand. Finally, The Curse of Frankenstein (Warner Bros., 1957 is in excellent condition.
