Released by Topps in early 1966, the Batman Black Bat Logo series was the first of five color-themed Batman trading card sets issued that year, launching at the height of the Batman television show craze. The 55-card set features dramatic original paintings by legendary pulp illustrator Norm Saunders, whose dynamic artwork depicts Batman and Robin in vivid, action-filled scenes battling familiar foes like The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, and The Riddler.
