    MGM Movie Golden Age Stars Signed Photograph. A sepia-toned 10" x 8" photo taken at the May 19, 1927 "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Convention Luncheon" in Culver City, California, signed by stars Greta Garbo, Lon Chaney, Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Conrad Nagel, Dolores Del Rio, Johnny Mack Brown, Jackie Coogan, Billy Haines, Eileen Percy, Claire Windsor, Tom O'Brien, Tim McCoy, Louise Lorraine, George K. Archer, E.M. Saunders, Dorothy Sebastian, Roy D'Arcy, Harry Carey, Sally O'Neil, Helen Chadwick, Bert Woodruff, Karl Dane, Gwen Lee, Tom Connors, and Frank Currier. The event highlighted the spring 1927 Purchase of a number of national film exchanges responsible for the distribution of film prints and publicity information. It was an important purchase, for it meant that MGM now had its own major theater chain, controlling both production and distribution. The 26 stars who signed this photograph represented a cross-section of MGM, with some being silent-screen stars whose careers ended with the advent of "talkies." a truly extraordinary photograph bearing, among others, two of the most sought after Hollywood autographs of the 20th century: Garbo and Chaney. In fine condition, lightly soiled at the margins with mounting remnants on verso (none show through. Accompanied by a 6" x 8 1/2" original printed menu from the event. In very fine condition.
