Photographer Günter Zint was born in Fulda, Germany in June, 1941. Beginning in 1959, Zint worked as a trainee for the German Press Agency (DPA), where he became an editor and photojournalist. Throughout the early-mid 1960s, he worked in Hamburg, Sweden and England. From 1965 to 1969, Zint was the resident photographer at the Star Club, and also during this period he accompanied The Beatles, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Spencer Davis Group, Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, and several others on tours through Germany. Aside from being the photographer for the Star Club, where he took many candid shots backstage and in the red-light district, Zint also had his work featured in the publications Stern, Spiegel, Konkret, and others. Though often thought of as a photographer for famous Rock acts or highlighting social issues, Zint describes himself as an all-purpose photographer.
