The Beatles ("The White Album") Mono No.01 LP UK Pressing (Apple PMC 7067/8, 1968). On November 22, 1968 the Beatles released their first double album. Simply titled The Beatles (known as "The White Album" to the general public due to the plain white cover), it rocketed up the charts to number 1 in the UK, the US, and around the world. In the UK, each mono copy was numbered from one to 3,000,000. Further information taken from the Bruce Spizer/ Frank Daniels book Beatles For Sale indicates that some copies in the 200,000 to 300,000 range were used for export stereo albums printed with the Parlophone label, but as the authors say the numbering sequence still remains a bit of a mystery. Tony Bramwell recalls that there may have been 4 sets numbering one through twenty. These low numbers were given out by Apple to the Mop Tops, Neil Aspinall, Mal Evans, Derek Taylor, George Martin and select others.

Here we offer an incredible "No. 01" printed copy on the LP's 50th anniversary! One very unusual fact regarding this No. 01 mono pressing is that another early number N0. 0000005 was found and sold 10 years ago, but having 6 zeros before the #5, but this copy only has one zero before the #1, another mystery.

The cover is in EX-7 condition with minor wear on the corners and edges. As seen in the online images there is no "mono" or "stereo" on the back right top corner, though they can be seen on the spine. The records feature the dark green labels with "An E.M.I. Recording" on all 4 sides. Condition of both discs is NM-8, the black record sleeves VG-5, the 4 photos EX-7 and the poster is VG-EX-6.
