DescriptionStar Trek: Voyager Screen Used Creature Model from "Distant Origin" (1997). Designed and painted by Dan Curry and sculpted from modeling clay by creature sculptor Jordu Schell (Avatar, The X-Files), this model was inspired by a prehistoric reptile from the early Permian period known as an Eryops.
This creature - along with a hadrosaur from the Cretaceous - could be seen on the holodeck of the Voyager in "Distant Origin," the 65th episode of the series. To help the actors with sight lines, Dan created a slot puppet from foam core in the creature's actual size, roughly six-feet long. Mounted on a piece of the blue screen used to photograph it, wood, and foam board base with a placard detailing the piece to 24.5" x 13.5" x 8". Fine condition, with some minute spots of rub-through to the outer paint in various places.
