Paul Revere & the Raiders 1969 Boxing-Style Concert Poster.
Very nice B&W cardboard window card from Salem, Oregon for the consistent hitmakers Paul Revere & the Raiders on Wednesday night, July 9, 1969. At this very moment, "Let Me" was in the top 20 of Billboard magazine's Hot 100 national singles chart. It was one of 11 Top 20 hits the group would enjoy from the mid-60's through the early 70's.

One thing special about this Raiders poster that the others don't have is the singling out of both lead singer Mark Lindsay, who was now producing the band's records and sang every one of the hits, and Keith Allison, a new recruit in the group they had picked up from the Where the Action Is TV show. (Also see our Where the Action Is concert poster as a separate item in this auction.) In the nice group photo found on this poster, Lindsay is top row center and Allison top row right.

Wednesday night, July 9, 1969, Salem Armory Auditorium in Oregon's capital city. Concerts West was in on the action (poster's top line), a big promoter in the Pacific Northwest who was presenting artists like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin in the Seattle area. Opening acts were Double Image, The Fragile Lime and Fatt Twice Together. Advance tickets three bucks, doors opened at 8:30 and several ticket-buying options are given.

Measures approximately 13.75" x 19.75", in other words very close to 14x20". In lovely Near Mint Minus condition, exhibiting just a bit of wear, mostly at the edges and corners, as well as creasing and indentions to edges. COA from Heritage Auctions. From the David Gest Memorabilia Archive.
