Paul McCartney Original Art Done While on a Trip to India (1968).
A brightly coloured abstract sketch of man drawn by Paul McCartney and Geoffrey Baker whilst in Rishikesh, India with the Beatles in February 1968. The group had traveled to the country to attend an advanced transcendental meditation programme at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi whom they had met in Bangor, Wales in August 1967. During their time at the ashram the Beatles filled spare time by writing songs (many of which would appear on the "White Album"), drawing and engaging in various other activities such as making bracelets. Paul has initialed the drawing "PM" and Geoffrey Baker has initialed the drawing "GB." The drawing comes from the estate of Geoffrey Baker, a former assistant to the Maharishi. Measures 8.25" x 13". Right edge is uneven due to it being torn out of a sketch book. Condition: Very Good Plus
