Marvin Gaye 1974 Los Angeles Forum Concert Poster. An original advertising window card for the great Marvin Gaye at the Los Angeles, or "Fabulous," Forum on May 17, 1974. Promoter and record mogul Dick Griffey presented this show. Picture shows Marvin in action wearing his trademark knit cap of the day.

Gaye had been active in the studio but dormant on the concert trail for four years at this point. There was huge pent-up demand to see Marvin after the success of 1971's What's Going On and 1973's Let's Get It On albums, the latter being his best-selling record ever. So responding to demand from both the general public and Motown, Gaye hit the road in January and toured throughout 1974 and '75. He even released a live album in mid-'74 recorded at the beginning of this tour, which also went Top 10 and really fueled the public's appetite to see him in person. You can definitely say he was "hitting on all cylinders" at this point.

Measures 13 7/8" x 22 3/8" and grades to a barely hanging-on Very Good, with pinholes in each corner plus five sets of staple holes, small surface creases and indents throughout, a light water stain in the top and bottom margins, a couple of tiny margin tears, a few white scratches blacked-out with a marker in the black bar at the bottom, and the cardboard is 'bowing' (curling) a little bit from perhaps remaining faint dampness. COA from Heritage Auctions.
