Jimi Hendrix/Janis Joplin - Original Artwork By P.S. Vincent For A Monterey Pop Festival Poster (1967). The artwork incorporates a newsprint black and white photograph mounted on card stock, showing an airplane full of sheep, with the venue, dates and details of the performing bands added in different colored inks in scrolling psychedelic writing. Signed in black ink to the lower right corner "P.S. Vincent". Measures 15.5" x 23" overall. In Very Good condition with pinholes to corners, remnants of adhesive to the borders, some marks and discoloration generally. The artwork is accompanied by a printed one-color version of the poster. Measures 14" x 20.5". In Near Mint condition.

Artwork for one of five posters produced and sold at the festival by Peter Seydel Vincent. Featuring the names of legendary acts the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Big Brother & the Holding Company, and others just before exploding into international stardom, as well as the Beach Boys, who were booked to perform, but backed out of the event, this piece affords collectors the opportunity to own a treasure chronicling a historic moment in Rock. Other acts showcased in the art include Country Joe & the Fish, Buffalo Springfield, the Who, Lou Rawls, the Mamas & the Papas, Grateful Dead, and Canned Heat. Each of those acts would give legendary performances at the incredibly momentous event.
