    Description

    Jazz - One Hundred Unpublished Color Stereoscopic Slides of Earl Hines, Pee Wee Hunt, Louis Jordan and Others (1948-1956). All vintage glass slides, most with "Character Arts / Cleveland, Ohio" paper label with typed details of the artists. Most venues in the Cleveland, Chicago, or New York areas. Performers include: Pee Wee Hunt, 1949 & 1951 (x7); Art Hodes, 1949, 1950 & 1951 (x18); Louis Jordan, 1949 & 1953 (x7); Earl Hines, 1948 & 1952 (x9); Jackie Jocko, 1952 (x5); Jonah Jones, 1951 & 1956 (x6); Johnny Hodges, 1951 (x5); and many others featuring Woody Herman, Claude Hopkins, Jon Hall, Etta Jones, Illinois Jacquet, Zilla Mays, Buster Bennett, and others. All slides measure approximately 4" x 1.75", and are in Very Good Plus to Excellent condition, with some loss to trim on sides and discoloration to labels. The actual images are in Excellent condition.

    In order to appreciate the three dimensional qualities of these images we strongly encourage interested bidders to view this lot in person.
