    Description

Guns N' Roses/Johnny Thunders 8 ½" x 11" Fenders Concert Handbill (1986). You can't put your arms around a memory, but you can hold documentation of the early days of Guns N' Roses. In the same month Guns N' Roses signed with Geffen Records, the five-piece opened for one of their heroes (and former New York Doll) Johnny Thunders at Fenders in Long Beach, CA. The band's lineup was the classic lineup that would later record Appetite for Destruction the following year. Though grunge bands of the early 1990s were seen as the antidote to '80s hair metal, Guns N' Roses was the warning sign to all the Bon Jovi and Poison imitators who enjoyed a few years of success in the late 1980s. For this show, Johnny Thunders headlined, while Guns N' Roses and Jetboy supported. GNR would later cover Thunders' heartbreak classic "You Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" on The Spaghetti Incident? Handbill measures 8 ½" x 11". In Near Mint Minus condition with a spot of toning on verso. COA from Heritage Auctions.
