Buddy Holly Set of Rare Backstage Photos with Negatives, 1958. During their 1958 heyday, Buddy Holly and the Crickets were a great success in England as well as in the States. The group toured England in March 1958, inspiring John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and others who would be on the forefront of the British Rock scene; and it was on this tour that the Stratocaster guitar was introduced to the UK and the first generation of British rockers. This set of b&w photos was taken during one of the two shows Holly and the Crickets performed at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on March 20, 1958. Opening acts included the Montanas, the Tanner Sisters, Gary Miller, and Ronnie Keene and His Orchestra. The eight 4" x 6" and thirteen 6.5" x 10" photos include shots of Holly relaxing backstage and signing autographs for fans, as well as images of his legendary guitar. The photos are in Excellent condition and are accompanied by the original negatives.
