Bob Marley - A Very Rare Handwritten Name And Address Card (1971). In late 1970 the singer Johnny Nash went to Sweden to co-star in a film called Want So Much To Believe. Nash and his manager were also providing the soundtrack, and subsequently brought in a group of musicians to compose and record at a large house in Stockholm, including John "Rabbit" Bundrick from England, and Bob Marley from Jamaica, who had composed songs for Nash previously. Marley arrived in March 1971 and lived and worked with the musicians for several months. During this time, he became involved in a relationship with a Swedish woman, and before returning to Jamaica in July, wrote down his Kingston address for purposes of correspondence and possible future visits. Consigned to this auction from the original recipient and current owner, Marley has printed in blue ballpoint: "12 Lincoln Road / Kingston 6 / Jamaica W.I. / Bob Marley" . On a slightly yellowed sheet of white paper measuring overall 4.5" x 4", with two horizontal folds, one through the "y" in Marley. The page has other notations on it which apparently were present and suffered water smudging prior to Marley's inscription, which is fully clear, legible, and free of damage. Marley signatures are very rare and desirable, the addition of his Jamaican address makes this one quite exceptional. Overall Very Good. Includes a signed Letter of Provenance from the recipient and consignor, as well as a 2013 12" x 12" six-page lavishly-illustrated promotional sheet for the soundtrack reissue, which includes an image of the Marley card. COA from Heritage Auctions.
