Vintage Posters w/Vintage Autographs Can't Be Beat

B.B. King 1961 Eagles Ballroom, Seattle Concert Poster Autographed At the Time. An original vintage concert-advertising window card for the greatest ambassador the blues has ever known, B.B. King. The date was Saturday night, March 25, 1961, the location was the famed Eagles Ballroom in Seattle, Washington, and the only musician on the poster is the master himself. And to top off a really sweet concert poster, Mr. King autographed his picture on the poster back in the day.

Six fun song titles augment this cardboard concert poster made by Tilghman ("till-man") Press of Oakland, CA. It's great to have "You Upset Me Baby" on there, his #1 R&B smash from 1954. Likewise "Bad Luck (Soul)," a #3 hit from 1956, and "Sweet Sixteen," a #2 hit from the previous year. We don't think of B.B. as a singles artist, but he tore up the R&B charts from 1951-1961.

Measures 14" x 22" and in Very Good Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: The poster came originally from a Vancouver, B.C. disc jockey who totally made the scene during this era, and we're sure that Riley was only too happy to sign for him on this occasion.

Condition details: Overall toning, with a strip down the right side where it wasn't exposed. Unusual water-drop staining starting in the "NG" in "King" and going down from there. Two tack holes in each corner, plus one midway down right side by the word "Now." Tape residue at the top over the "E" in "Eagles" and "M" of "Ballroom." Tape residue also at two top spots on the verso.
