    An Original Painting by Jack Rickard for a "Mad" Magazine Cover, 1977. Gouache and oil on board or canvas (not examined out of frame), depicting Stallone as "Rocky Balboa" in the ring getting ready to fight Alfred E. Neuman, signed in the lower right corner "Jack / Rickard;" used for the cover of issue No. 194 from October 1977; evidently gifted to Stallone by either the artist or someone at "Mad;" on display in Stallone's home for many years.
    Matted and Framed: 35" x 27"; Work Only: 29" x 22"

    "Rocky has received many awards and accolades but I have to admit that I was most stunned by making it to the cover of Mad Magazine! Mad Magazine is something that I had grown up with and used for childlike escapism. I just love the humor as a kid and the fact that I actually made it to the cover years later was really 'big time' for me, so extraordinary!"
