An Elizabeth Taylor Dress from "Cleopatra." 20th Century Fox, 1963. Mauve silk chiffon, sleeveless, floor-length with side slits to mid-thigh, adorned with iridescent sequins and silver thread forming shell-shaped patterns on the front and back bust, same iridescent sequins form vertical strips on the front and back bottom portion, zip-up and snap back closure, Western Costume Co. label reads "Elizabeth Taylor / No. 1609-1;" worn by the star as she portrayed the title character in what was to become one of the most notorious Hollywood productions ever; interestingly, the dress appears more blue than mauve in the film due to the 'colored lighting' used by the cinematographer. (Please note there are minor sweat stains in the arm area of the interior lining and some threading has become loose, but overall, dress is still in very good condition.)

Taylor did wear this dress in the film however the scene where she wore it was cut from the final version -- now it can only be seen on the actress in still photographs.
