An Early Script from "Blade Runner." Warner Bros., 1982. No covers, loose-leaf pages, no authorship noted, dated "December 22, 1980," 140 pages, light handwritten annotations in turquoise pencil throughout, corrected text changes throughout (in the form of old-school correction tape), last page with "Rick Deckard's" [Harrison Ford] voice-over reading "The great Tyrell hadn't designed / me, but whoever had, hadn't done / so much better. 'You're programmed / too,' she told me and she was right. / In my own modest way, I was a combat / model. Roy Batty was my later brother" (basically confirming that Deckard himself is a replicant!); a nice, early version of the script which would soon turn into the modern-day Sci-Fi classic that co-starred Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, Edward James Olmos, and Daryl Hannah, among others; interestingly, the sequel "Blade Runner 2049" will be released in October 2017, 35 years after the original, still starring Harrison Ford and still written by Hampton Fancher; in Paul M. Salmon's 1996 book, "Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner," the author notes that this particular draft of the script was co-written by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples and then revised by Michael Deeley, Katy Haber, and Ridley Scott; Salmon also notes in his book that all early paperwork on the film had been lost during relocation of the production offices in 1981, so this version of the script may be one of the only ones extant. (Please note there is slight water damage on last page and all pages are yellowed due to age.)
