A William Holden Script from "The Wild Bunch," 1968. Controversial, violent, and highly influential, Sam Peckinpah's 1969 western pushed the boundaries of filmmaking and became an instant cult classic. The movie featured one of Holden's most memorable performances, cast as an aging outlaw opposite Robert Ryan, Ben Johnson, Ernest Borgnine, and Warren Oates. This is Holden's personal copy of the script's 128-page final draft, dated February 7, 1968 with pink and blue revision pages dated February 12 and 27, 1968, respectively. There is a brief note on page ten written by Holden in black ink; otherwise, it is free of annotations. The script is enclosed in a black binder and is in Very Fine condition with some wear to the cover and pages. It is accompanied by a copy of a 17-page essay on the film by actor Robert Culp and a copy of the January 16, 1970 issue Entertainment World in which it was included. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to the William Holden Wildlife Foundation.
