Presented is a spectacular original work of concept art for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith by the celebrated film poster artist John Alvin (1948 - 2008). John Alvin is known worldwide as one of the greatest film illustrators of all time, creating posters and key art for more than 135 films beginning with the iconic poster for Mel Brooks's Blazing Saddles. His prolific career has touched the hearts of millions, inspiring audiences with his distinctive and magical artistic touch. John's list of film credits includes The Lion King, E.T., Star Wars, The Color Purple, and Batman Returns just to name a few from his impressive resume. This is a dynamic image featuring the evil Darth Sidious and a split-image of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The characters are backgrounded by kinetic bursts of fire and lava, alluding to the film's climactic finale. This piece is rendered masterfully in mixed media on black textured art paper, signed by John Alvin near the bottom edge.
