Description

Transformers G1 Skywarp with Rubsign AFA 75 (Hasbro, 1984). Skywarp arrived in the first wave of Transformers in 1984 as one of the original Decepticon Seekers, joining Starscream and Thundercracker to form the aerial backbone of Megatron's forces. Like his counterparts, he transforms into a McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, but his bold black-and-purple deco gave him an instantly recognizable look. This version includes the heat-sensitive rubsign, introduced by Hasbro in 1985, which allowed children to "reveal" a figure's hidden allegiance by pressing the decal until the faction symbol appeared. The feature quickly became a hallmark of early Generation 1 production and is now one of the most nostalgic identifiers of authentic vintage Transformers.

This example has been preserved in acrylic and graded AFA 75 EX+ with subgrades of B75 W85 F90. Within the lore, Skywarp stood out for his ability to teleport across the battlefield, a power that made him dangerous but also unreliable, as his penchant for pranks often undermined his effectiveness. His unpredictability added dimension to the Decepticon ranks and helped establish the Seeker trio as one of the most iconic groupings in Transformers. For collectors, this figure is more than a transforming jet; it represents the earliest wave of Decepticon air power, captured in plastic at the very start of Generation 1.
