Description

Transformers G1 Perceptor AFA 80 (Hasbro, 1985). Perceptor was introduced in 1985 as part of Series 2, serving as the Autobots' resident scientist, a character defined by intellect over combat. His toy reflects that identity in a way few Transformers do, functioning as an actual working microscope with 14x magnification alongside his robot mode. A third, lesser-known configuration converts the figure into a tank-like artillery form, using the lens assembly as a cannon, adding an additional layer of play value to an already unconventional design. While later interpretations, including the IDW comics, reimagined him in a more combat-oriented role, the original G1 release remains rooted in his scientific identity, making him one of the more unique entries in the 1985 lineup. Graded AFA 80 NM, with subgrades of B75 W85 F90, this example ranks as the fourth-highest grade on the population report, with only eighteen graded higher. A standout from the 1985 series, Perceptor brings a rare combination of function and transformation, offering a distinct addition to any G1 lineup-don't miss the chance to add one of the line's most inventive designs to your G1 collection.
