A swamp-raised amphibian turned hero, Genghis Frog leapt onto the scene in 1989's Series 2 lineup as one of the Punk Frogs-mutant allies of the Turtles and students of Master Splinter. His Hawaiian shirt, easygoing grin, and Southern charm made him an instant fan favorite, standing out as both ally and comic relief in the animated series. As one of the earliest non-Turtle characters in the Playmates line, Genghis showcased the expanding scope and personality that helped the brand evolve beyond its core quartet.
