Description

Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection Stormtrooper Press Kit (Hasbro, 2004). Issued by Hasbro in 2004 during Toy Fair, from the collection of Derryl DePriest, this promotional press kit was created to preview the company's upcoming plans for The Original Trilogy Collection, a line that revisited classic characters and packaging aesthetics while aligning with the DVD release of the original films that same year. Designed specifically for media distribution rather than retail sale, the kit functioned as both a marketing tool and a commemorative nod to the legacy of the 3.75-inch format introduced in 1977. The presentation takes the form of a folder-style package with a dramatic black exterior featuring stylized character artwork and franchise branding. One panel houses a sealed 3.75-inch Stormtrooper action figure, while the opposite side originally contained printed press materials, including a formal release statement and a concise retrospective history of Star Wars action figures spanning 1977 through 2004. The inclusion of a production figure within the press folder underscores Hasbro's continued emphasis on the core troop-builder as a flagship representation of the brand. Toy Fair press kits were produced in limited quantities for industry and media use, and surviving examples, particularly those retaining their sealed figure component, represent a tangible artifact of Hasbro's 2004 effort to reframe the original trilogy era for a new generation while honoring the lineage of the 3.75-inch line.

More Information: Condition reflects moderate scuffing to the surfaces, edges, and corners. The printed press materials are not present. The Stormtrooper figure remains sealed within the interior blister.
