Description

Star Wars Harbert D3BO (C-3PO) 12-Back AFA 75 - Italian (Harbert, 1978). Released for the Italian market by Harbert in 1978, D3BO represents the localized counterpart to Kenner's C-3PO, reflecting the early international expansion of the Star Wars line. Harbert's Italian issues are distinguished by their translated character designations and market-specific packaging, with the "D3BO" nomenclature standing as one of the most recognizable European naming variations in the vintage run. As a 12-Back release from the first year of production, this example occupies an important position within both the foundational Star Wars cardback sequence and the broader landscape of early foreign-license adaptations. This example is graded AFA 75 EX+/NM with subgrades of C75 B75 F85. Early Harbert 12-Back figures remain essential to serious international-focused collections, and D3BO continues to be a defining piece within any comprehensive global C-3PO lineup.

More Information: Harbert (Italy):
Harbert served as the official Italian distributor for Kenner's Star Wars line during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Based in Milan, the company released localized versions of the 3.75-inch action figures and die-cast vehicles tailored to the Italian market. Packaging prominently featured the translated title Guerre Stellari, and certain characters were relabeled with Italian-language designations, including D3BO for C-3PO and C1P8 for R2-D2. Harbert branding typically appears on the card front, and Italian cardbacks include distinctive variations such as localized 12-back, 20-back, and 21-back formats.
