Description

Star Wars Glasslite TIE Interceptor (Glasslite, 1980s). In 1987, Glasslite secured the official Star Wars license for Brazil, bringing an end to the country's unlicensed bootleg era dominated by Model Trem. By 1988, Glasslite launched its O Poder da Força ("Power of the Force") line, introducing eight figures and three vehicles to the Brazilian market, including this motorized TIE Interceptor. Produced under Kenner's guidance but with its own distinctive packaging, materials, and paint applications, the Glasslite releases stand out today as uniquely Brazilian contributions to the global Star Wars collecting story. International variants like this TIE Interceptor capture the fascinating legacy of Star Wars' reach beyond Kenner's U.S. line - a story of how one galaxy far, far away was localized for children around the world. For collectors seeking to expand beyond domestic releases, this Brazilian edition is a compelling piece of history, carrying the flair of Glasslite's O Poder da Força line and the cultural mark of Brazil's place in the saga's toy empire.

More Information: This example is offered with its original box, which displays heavy wear, creasing, tearing, corner splits, and surface loss from age and handling. This also includes some moderate surface staining and a small puncture on the front panel. The vehicle shows playwear and decal wear, discoloration, with scuffing visible on the cockpit sphere and wings, though both wings are present and attach correctly. One of the gun barrels on the wing tips is bending. These items are untested, and no guarantee can be made regarding their working conditions.
