Star Wars Droids Boba Fett Original Packaging Artwork by Alice Carter (Kenner, 1985). The Droids cartoon series brought Star Wars to Saturday morning TV in 1985, along with new characters and conflicts from the Star Wars universe. It wasn't by mistake however, that its creators also made sure to include the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy... Boba Fett from the original trilogy, as a part of the storyline for its fourth episode. Kenner followed suit and included Boba Fett in their new line of Droids action figures, even before the paint had dried on the animation cells for the TV property. While the action figure was essentially a re-issue of the Trilogy line action figure that had debuted in 1979, the original Droids Boba Fett packaging artwork offered here delivered a new image for the character's blister card that matched the cartoon aesthetic and colors. This artwork was part of a design refresh for Kenner's animated Droids line in 1985, that featured comic book influenced scenes that are quite literally bursting with color. The Droids Boba Fett blister card artwork was easily the line's best.

- Spanish Licensee Panrico borrowed the Kenner Droids Boba Fett packaging artwork image for a sticker it released in 1986.
- Topps used the image on a Galaxy Series 2 trading card in 1994 and again in 2022 for the company's Chrome Galaxy Retro series.

- In 2015 Gentle Giant produced an upsized replica of the entire Kenner Droids Boba Fett package with a coin and original-deco figure.

- During 2021 Hasbro used the 1985 Droids Boba Fett artwork for two different Lucas Film Ltd. 50th Anniversary action figure packages: the Vintage Collection Droids Boba Fett and the larger Black Series Boba Fett. Both of these figures updated their color scheme to match the cartoon and artwork.

- Disney re-used the Droids Boba Fett packaging art as a Wallpaper download to Celebrate May the 4th this year (2024).

Measuring 15 by 20.5 inches, this 1985 Star Wars Droids Boba Fett artwork represents the finest surviving blister card image for the character from Kenner's 1977-1985 vintage line and was created by Alice Carter. The original Space Scene packaging artwork for Boba Fett from 1979 was destroyed circa 1991, along with art for many other key Kenner Star Wars characters. This artwork first became known to the public in 2001, when the Kenner Marketing executive who had saved it from the dumpster offered it for sale through Collectible Investment Brokerage.
This auction represents a rare and unique opportunity to own packaging art for what has traditionally been the most popular character from Kenner's 1977-85 vintage line. It has changed hands just twice since 1991 and is available for the first time publicly. As a truly one-of-a-kind piece of Star Wars history, that will surely be the centerpiece of an enviable collection.

This artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity by Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) which has been authenticated and signed by Tom Derby.
