Description

Voltron Motorized Giant Commander (LJN, 1984). Released during the height of Voltron: Defender of the Universe's popularity, LJN's Motorized Giant Commander stood apart as one of the line's most ambitious creations. Towering in scale and powered by a remote-control motorized drive system, the toy captured the era's fascination with large-format, feature-rich robots-an answer to the show's dazzling combination of mechanized might and heroic unity. For many fans, this was the crown jewel of LJN's Voltron offerings, a display centerpiece that embodied the spectacle of the animated series. The box shows significant edge wear with scuffing and dents, and the corners exhibit significant scuffing and crushing. The front panel surfaces show extensive wear, including scuffing, creasing, crushing, veining, tape residue, and tearing around the window. The window itself displays heavy scuffing, small punctures, and detachment along the top and left sides. The contents remain MIB, and one piece of original tape still secures the lid, suggesting the box may never have been fully opened. For collectors of vintage robot lines-or those who grew up watching the blazing sword come down with unstoppable force-this Giant Commander offers a rare chance to reclaim the awe of early-'80s toy engineering. Its dramatic scale and motorized play features made it unforgettable then, and its presence today still packs the same heroic punch. As opportunities to acquire boxed examples grow increasingly scarce, this piece stands ready to anchor a Voltron display with the towering energy only the Giant Commander can deliver.
