Designed by Marvin Glass and produced by Louis Marx & Co., this hulking green brute was brought to life with a wired remote control that allowed kids to make Garloo walk forward, bend at the waist, and swing his arms - ideally to serve his human masters or menace smaller action figures. His striking visual design - reptilian scales, pointed ears, Roman-style sandals, and a leopard-print loincloth - made him an instant standout, amplified by a memorable TV ad campaign and leopard-print box art touting his monstrous obedience. Over 2 feet tall, Garloo was one of the largest battery-operated toys of his era, and his cult following continues to grow among monster fans and robot collectors alike. The figure shows moderate overall wear, with some rubbing to the paint, particularly on the hands, staining, and mild aging of the exposed metal joints.
