Description
Pop-Top Unbreakable Horrors Witch & Executioner (MPC, 1964). Multiple Toymakers (MPC) unleashed one of the strangest monster novelties of the mid-1960s with their "Pop-Top Horrors" line-plastic figures with interchangeable heads and bodies designed to be mixed and matched into new, hideous creations. Part toy, part gag, and all monster, these low-cost figures tapped into the peak of monster mania, offering kids a way to "create their own" horrors. This carded example features the Witch, cast in bright yellow with her bat familiar, and the Executioner, molded in eerie purple and clutching his severed head. Still sealed on its original 29¢ card, the package shows significant age and handling wear but retains strong display presence with bold, comic-style artwork. The figures inside remain untouched. Pop-Tops occupy a bizarre and beloved niche in vintage horror collecting-cheap, crude, and unforgettable. For fans of mid-century monster toys, this pairing of Witch and Executioner embodies the weird alchemy that made 1960s monster merchandise so enduring.Heritage Auctions provides detailed information when available but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
