Description
LEGO Castle King's Castle (6080) Set - Open Box (LEGO, 1984). Released in 1984 as the flagship of LEGO's early Castle line, Set 6080 King's Castle represents one of the defining playsets of the theme's formative years. Built around a fully enclosed stone fortress with hinged walls, working gate, and modular interior access, the set embodies LEGO's transition from simple medieval facades into more immersive, story-driven environments. The inclusion of a large baseplate layout, multiple guard towers, and a functional drawbridge established a standard for castle design that would influence the line for decades. The set is particularly notable for its early Lion Knights faction, featuring printed shields and tunics that helped formalize faction identity within LEGO Castle. With a robust assortment of minifigures, accessories, and structural elements, 6080 remains one of the most recognizable and influential medieval sets of the 1980s, widely regarded as a cornerstone release for collectors of the theme. The box shows consistent moderate wear, with visible scuffing, creasing, and areas of crushing that are most evident along the edges and corners. The front display retains its structure but includes a tear at the lower right of the right window, and that window has largely separated from the box, while both windows show surface wear. One side seal has been opened. Inside, the set presents as unused, with many components still sealed in their original factory bags; some internal shifting has occurred, leaving a portion of the minifigures and loose elements slightly out of position within the tray. A foundational Castle release that helped define LEGO's medieval identity, this example offers a scarce opportunity to secure one of the era's most important sets with largely preserved contents, a piece that continues to anchor serious collections of vintage LEGO.Heritage Auctions provides detailed information when available but strongly encourages in-person inspection. Auction Type
Signature Internet Extended Bid: These auctions are presented only online and bidding is only taken through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 7:00 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 15 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 7:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 15 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 7:03, the new end time for that lot would become 7:18. If no other bids were placed before 7:18, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 15 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 7 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 7:15. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding and you must be on an individual lot page to reflect the accurate time remaining for that particular lot.
