James Bond & Oddjob (Broken) 12-Inch Action Figures & Accessory Sets Lot of 5 (Gilbert, 1965-66). Released in conjunction with Thunderball and Goldfinger, Gilbert's 12-inch James Bond action figure line represented one of the earliest attempts to merge cinematic espionage with the emerging format of poseable adventure toys. This five-piece lot includes the James Bond action figure complete with original box, metal pistol and holster, and instruction sheet. The figure displays wear, and the box shows heavy creasing, tearing, and crushing throughout. Also included is the Oddjob action figure, loose with his iconic steel-brimmed bowler hat and instruction sheet; the right arm with the throwing mechanism has broken off. Rounding out the lot are three rare Gilbert accessory packs: two carded Scuba Gear sets (one with tank and knife, the other with speargun and underwater propulsion device-broken) and one boxed Disguise Kit featuring two alternate faces, a sniper rifle with detachable parts, and belt accessories. The boxed set shows significant wear, including crushing, surface scuffing, and edge tearing, though the item tray and window remain intact. Even in played-with condition, this group vividly captures the innovation and cinematic flair of Gilbert's ambitious 007 toy line. Bridging the gap between spycraft and playtime, these relics remain a testament to the mid-'60s Bond phenomenon-when secret agents, gadgets, and villains first took their place in the pantheon of collectible heroes.
