This case contains ten examples of Renwal's Insect Science Assembly Kit, box no. 349 (also marked 801:349), issued during the 1960s as part of the company's science and educational model line. The kit was designed as a large-format instructional assembly set, featuring detailed plastic insect models intended for hands-on construction and study. When assembled, the primary display stands approximately 16 inches high. The full kit configuration includes models of a Field Cricket, Blue Bottle Fly, Malaria Mosquito, Red Admiral Butterfly, Giant Water Bug, and Polistes Wasp, with the field cricket rendered at approximately ten times life scale. Original contents typically consist of unassembled plastic parts, an instruction and painting guide, and the educational booklet titled Studying and Collecting Insects. Condition is generalized across the individual kits, with wear varying by box. Box edges show moderate scuffing, with moderate scuffing and crushing at the corners. Box surfaces exhibit moderate scuffing and creasing. The contents appear unused and are housed in open boxes. The outer case box shows significant wear, including heavy crushing and creasing. A scarce case grouping from Renwal's science-model output, this lot preserves the scope and presentation of one of the company's most ambitious educational kits, offering both scale and quantity from a classic period of mid-century instructional toy design.
