Green Hornet Tin Lunchbox & Kite (King-Seeley / Roalex, 1960s). This two-piece lot reflects mid-1960s merchandising tied to The Green Hornet, the short-lived but culturally durable television series starring Van Williams and featuring Bruce Lee as Kato. Produced in 1967, the King-Seeley tin lunchbox and thermos exemplify the era's licensed metal lunch kits, which translated prime-time action programming into everyday schoolyard accessories. The graphics capture the show's crime-fighting imagery at the height of its broadcast visibility. Accompanying the lunchbox is an All Plastic Green Hornet kite by Roalex, presented bagged with its original cardboard backer. Character kites were a popular, inexpensive extension of television licensing during the decade, offering bold, wind-driven display graphics tied directly to broadcast properties. The lunchbox exhibits significant paint wear and oxidation along the edges and corners. The kite remains unused in its bag; the bag shows significant scuffing. A compact pairing of durable tin and ephemeral paper-and-plastic promotion, representing two distinct formats of 1960s television merchandising.
