318 Light Plastic Combat Grenades Set of 5 (Marx, 1960s). Produced during the height of mid-century military-themed play, this Marx set features five olive-drab plastic grenades modeled after the U.S. Mk 2 fragmentation grenade, widely known as the "pineapple" grenade due to its deeply segmented exterior. The Mk 2 served as the standard-issue American hand grenade from World War I through World War II and into the Korean War, and its distinctive form translated readily into toy aisles of the 1950s and 1960s. Marketed as "Realistic," the card encourages children to "Hook them on your belt!" and features an illustrated soldier in World War II-style uniform, reinforcing the era's combat-play aesthetic. Each grenade retains its black-and-white pull ring detail, completing the period look. The card shows mild edge scuffing and dents, with mildly soft corners. The surface exhibits mild scuffing, creasing, and discoloration. The contents appear unused and remain attached to the original cardback.
