Description

G.I. Joe Snow Cat AFA 80 ** Third Highest Graded Example ** (Hasbro, 1985). Released in 1985, the Snow Cat expanded the growing Arctic operations of the A Real American Hero line with a heavily armed snow assault vehicle designed for extreme-weather combat. Paired with driver Frostbite, the vehicle became one of the defining winter-themed releases of the mid-1980s assortment. Frostbite's filecard established him as a hardened Alaskan born in Galena, Alaska, with the character's full name, Farley Seward, serving as a likely nod to "Seward's Folly," the historical nickname tied to the Alaska Purchase. Combined with the filecard's emphasis on brutal subzero operating conditions, the character helped ground the Snow Cat within the more realistic military storytelling that defined the vintage era. Graded AFA 80, this example ranks as the third highest graded recorded according to the AFA population report. The Snow Cat remains one of the more recognizable Arctic vehicles of the vintage line, pairing rugged cold-weather styling with one of the stronger environmental specialties introduced during the 1985 expansion of G.I. Joe.
