Description

G.I. Joe Snake Eyes 9-Back AFA 85+ ** POP 1, 2nd-Highest Grade, Only 3 Higher ** (Hasbro, 1982). As one of the original figures from the inaugural 1982 Series 1 lineup, Snake Eyes stands at the very foundation of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, embodying the mystery and quiet intensity that would come to define the franchise's most iconic character. This straight-arm version, presented on the 9-Back card, represents the earliest carded format in the line's history, marking the first wave of figures ever offered to collectors. With his all-black commando design, Snake Eyes introduced a minimalist yet instantly recognizable aesthetic that would evolve into one of the most enduring identities in action figure history. This example comes from the Derryl DePriest collection. Graded AFA 85+ NM+ with subgrades of C85 B85 F90, this example stands as the only one at this grade level on the population report, with just three graded higher. A cornerstone piece from the very beginning of A Real American Hero, this Snake Eyes combines first-release significance, early packaging, and strong population standing, offering collectors a defining example of one of the brand's most legendary characters.
