Description

G.I. Joe Rolling Thunder Vehicle AFA 85 ** POP 7, Highest Grade ** (Hasbro, 1988). Rolling Thunder represents one of the most ambitious vehicle designs in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line, introduced in 1988 as part of Series 7 during the brand's peak era of expansion. Commanded by its included driver Armadillo, this massive armored assault vehicle was conceived as a mobile weapons platform, featuring twin forward cockpits, multiple rotating gun stations, and a central missile battery capable of launching a full barrage of long-range rockets. Measuring over three feet in length when fully deployed, Rolling Thunder pushed the limits of what a retail toy vehicle could be, combining scale, firepower, and playability into a single centerpiece release. Its design has been noted to draw inspiration from the Colonial Marines APC seen in Aliens (1986), reflecting the crossover between late-1980s military sci-fi aesthetics and toyline engineering. Graded AFA 85 NM+, this example ranks as the highest grade on the population report, with a total population of seven at this level and none graded higher. A flagship vehicle from one of G.I. Joe's strongest years, Rolling Thunder delivers exactly what its name promises: overwhelming force, unstoppable momentum, and a presence that leaves nothing standing in its path.

Auction Type
Signature Internet Extended Bid: These auctions are presented only online and bidding is only taken through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 7:00 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 15 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 7:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 15 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 7:03, the new end time for that lot would become 7:18. If no other bids were placed before 7:18, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 15 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 7 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 7:15. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding and you must be on an individual lot page to reflect the accurate time remaining for that particular lot.
