Description
G.I. Joe Rampart 34-Back with Combat Pay AFA 80 ** Only Graded Example ** (Hasbro, 1990). Rampart brought video-arcade reaction speed to live-fire defense, applying fast spatial judgment and split-second timing to the Navy's air-defense artillery ranks. Released as part of Series 9 in 1990, this example is presented on a 34-Back card with Combat Pay, the 1990 promotion in which specially marked packages included G.I. Joe currency redeemable through the Get Tough Catalog. Graded AFA 80 NM with subgrades of C75 B80 F85, this example stands as the only graded example on the population report. For Rampart, every incoming missile is just another target moving too fast for the average player. Insert Combat Pay to continue.More Information: Derryl DePriest is a longtime toy industry executive and pop culture historian who served as Vice President of Global Brand Management at Hasbro from 2001 to 2018, overseeing major initiatives for Star Wars and G.I. Joe. Items offered from his collection reflect the perspective of an executive who helped guide some of the most influential collector-driven brands of the modern era.
