G.I. Joe Play Outfit (Halco, 1960s). Produced during the height of the original 12-inch G.I. Joe era, this Halco play outfit reflects the broader wave of licensed and military-inspired roleplay merchandise that accompanied the popularity of G.I. Joe during the 1960s. Sized for children ages 12–14, the set captures the military adventure aesthetic that defined much of the decade's youth merchandising. Rather than serving as a figure accessory, outfits such as this allowed children to participate directly in the military-themed play experiences that helped define the original G.I. Joe era, extending the brand's influence beyond the toy aisle and into dress-up and roleplay products.

More Information: The box displays writing on the front near the Action Sailor image to the left of the window, on the inside of lid, inside mask, inside and outside of the bottom of lid. There is also a tear directly below the Action Soldier graphic on front of box. The included mask shows light crushing and denting, while the uniform displays some fraying throughout, sewn hole, and staining.
