G.I. Joe Official Jeep Combat Set – Open Box (Hasbro, 1965). The Official Jeep Combat Set was one of the defining early vehicles of Hasbro's 12" G.I. Joe line, also known to collectors as the Five Star Jeep. This example is the first-issue box version with the "moto-rev" feature callout and the "It Works!" text printed below the 108mm recoilless rifle, identifying it with the early noisemaking action that was later removed from the toy. The set includes the military jeep, mounted recoilless rifle, instructions, and an insert pamphlet, representing the straight military phase of the original G.I. Joe line before the brand moved further into adventure and civilian-styled vehicle themes. As a first-issue example of G.I. Joe's most famous 12" vehicle, this Combat Set carries the early mechanical feature, working spotlight, and shelf presence that made the Jeep a cornerstone of the original Hasbro line.

More Information: The set is housed in an Original open box with significant wear, including edge scuffing, crushing, separation, tearing, punctures, creasing, staining, and marker writing on the front panel. The corners show moderate scuffing, crushing, separation, and tears. The contents are used with moderate wear, but appear complete and unbroken, with the instructions and insert pamphlet present, but have creasing, staining and edge wear. Despite the box wear, the front panel graphics still display well. The flag has some mild discoloration. This item is untested, and no guarantee can be made regarding its working condition.
