Description

G.I. Joe Ninja Force T'Jbang with Combat Pay & Universal Studios Offer AFA 85 ** Only Graded Example ** (Hasbro, 1992). T'Jbang was released in Series 11 as part of the 1992 Ninja Force subset, bringing the Joe team a sword-focused martial artist tied directly to Storm Shadow's ninja lineage. A former disciple of the master swordsman of Storm Shadow's clan, T'Jbang forged his own personal sword and developed the "Silent Backslash" technique by striking at flying bats in deep mountain caverns, which is exactly the kind of training regimen that makes regular dojo hours seem a little soft. This example features both the Combat Pay and Universal Studios promotional offers. Like the other Ninja Force figures, T'Jbang was built around a "real ninja move" action feature, with a spring-action hip that turns the upper torso when the right arm is pushed back, then snaps forward into a right-arm striking motion. Originating from the collection of former Hasbro executive Derryl DePriest. Graded AFA 85 NM+ with subgrades of C85 B85 F85, this example stands as the only graded example on the population report. T'Jbang took an oath of silence for reasons known only to Storm Shadow. Add him before this silent swordsman slips back into Ninja Force legend.

More Information: Derryl DePriest is a longtime toy industry executive and pop culture historian who served as Vice President of Global Brand Management at Hasbro from 2001 to 2018, overseeing major initiatives for Star Wars and G.I. Joe during a transformative era for collector-focused product. During his tenure, Hasbro launched key lines including The Vintage Collection and the 6-inch Star Wars: The Black Series, both of which reshaped modern action figure presentation and articulation standards. A lifelong G.I. Joe enthusiast and recognized liaison between Hasbro and the collector community, DePriest later authored Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Archive Edition and has contributed extensively to documenting the history of G.I. Joe. Items offered from his collection reflect the perspective of an executive who helped guide some of the most influential collector-driven brands of the modern era.
