Description

G.I. Joe Ninja Commando Storm Shadow Canceled 1995 Series Pre-Production Figure (Hasbro, 1995). This Storm Shadow pre-production figure represents a fully realized example from the canceled 1995 Ninja Commandos sub-line, showing how one of G.I. Joe's most important characters was being carried forward at the end of the A Real American Hero era. The figure appears to use all-new tooling and is fully assembled in production-intent materials, with a spring-loaded action feature that causes one arm to drive the other in tandem before snapping back into position for a rapid double-strike attack. The white uniform, green accents, red sash, and cloth head tassels give the figure a distinct late-era ninja profile while still keeping Storm Shadow immediately recognizable. Multiple paint iterations are known for this canceled figure, including examples with green-painted boots, indicating active refinement before the 1995 line was shelved. This example comes from the personal collection of former Hasbro executive Derryl DePriest and is accompanied by a COA signed by Derryl DePriest. This is a rare surviving example from a fully developed but unreleased 1995 lineup, preserving a near-final vision of Storm Shadow from the closing chapter of the vintage G.I. Joe line.

More Information: The figure remains in excellent condition, with light handling wear consistent with internal use during the approval process.
