Description

G.I. Joe Desert Scorpion AFA 75+ (Hasbro, 1991). Released in the 1991 Series 10 lineup, Desert Scorpion is Cobra's desert trooper, built around a punitive assignment concept where underperforming Vipers are reassigned to survive harsh environments and frontline combat. The file card frames the role as both a punishment and a proving ground, with Scorpions forced to adapt to desert-warfare tactics modeled after the creatures they're named for, striking fast and surviving under constant pressure. The figure's sculpt and gear reflect that specialization, with a distinctive helmet and field equipment suited to arid operations. The 22-back card places it within the expanding early-'90s Cobra ranks, as the brand leaned further into specialized troop builders and environmental divisions. Graded AFA 75+ EX+/NM, with subgrades of C75 B85 F85. A punishment detail where survival is the only way out, Cobra's version of earning your way back the hard way.
